Founded in AD 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan is popularly known as the Pink City. With broad avenues and spacious gardens, the city is steeped in history and culture. Here the past comes alive in magnificent forts and palaces, blushed pink, where once lived the maharajas. The bustling bazaars of Jaipur, famous for Rajasthan jewellery, fabric and shoes, possess a timeless quality and are a treasure-trove for the shoppers.
Planned by Vidyadhar Bhattacharya, Jaipur holds the distinction of being the first planned city of India. Renowned globally for its coloured gems, the capital city of Rajasthan combines the allure of its ancient history with all the advantages of a metropolis. Jaipur rises up majestically against the backdrop of the forts Nahargarh, Jaigarh and Garh Ganesh Temple. The bustling modern city is one of the three corners of the golden triangle that includes Delhi, Agra and Jaipur.
The story goes that in 1876, the Prince of Wales visited India on a tour. Since the colour pink was symbolic of hospitality, Maharaja Ram Singh of Jaipur painted the entire city pink. The pink that colours the city makes for a marvellous spectacle to behold .The vibrant city of Jaipur is brimming with colors, enchanting forts, and mesmerizing markets. Popularly known as the ‘Pink City’the allure of Jaipur is so strong, that it attracts innumerable tourists from India and abroad. Complemented by Delhi and Agra, the city is part of the Golden Triangle tourist circuit. It is the capital of the historically rich state of Rajasthan, in India. The architectural marvels of the city reveal its glorious past. From the captivating Hawa Mahal to the bewitching City Palace, each place of the city depicts its own story.</br>The markets of Jaipur are full of beautiful handicrafts and jewelry which are unique to the city. With modernization and urbanization, Jaipur is growing at a fast rate. You can find swanky malls, high-end restaurants, and prestigious educational institutions in the city. Its economy is growing each day, with the addition of different types of industries ranging from manufacturing to information technology. The lively culture of the city is reflected by its people who prefer to wear colorful attire, consume traditional Rajasthani cuisine and treat everyone, including the tourists, with graciousness.
Day 1 - Delhi to Jaipur | Visit to Chokhi Dhani ( 265kms/5hrs)
Post pick-up from Delhi, travel to Jaipur via road and upon arrival in the city, head to the hotel.
Renowned for its cultural charm, Jaipur showers all with royal hospitality, making them feel like a maharaja an unforgettable experience. After check-in at the hotel, spend the day at leisure.
In the evening, visit Chokhi Dhani a village-themed resort, which provides a lifetime experience by giving you the chance to delve into the rich heritage of Jaipur. Puppet shows, authentic Rajasthani dishes, acrobatic shows and cultural performances are some of the highlights of this place. (Entry ticket or any other expense would be on direct payment basis).
After exploring the resort, return to the hotel for a peaceful sleep.
Day 2 - Half-day City Tour
Visit Amber Fort, built in 1592, using red sandstone and marble. This fortress features delicate, artistic engravings that are inspired from the Hindu and Muslim design layouts. Its marvellous interiors, and attractively planned Deewan-i-Aam, Shila Devi Temple, Sheesh Mahal and Ganesh Pol etch their charm on the hearts of visitors. Tourists also get attracted to the Magic Flower, a carving on Sheesh Mahal’s marble walls.
Post exploring this huge fortress, see the Rajputana masonry at Hawa Mahal, which is also called the Palace of the Winds. It was constructed by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799. Its design is said to resemble the crown of Lord Krishna. It attracts tourists for not only its mythological connection, but also intricately carved jharokhas that still prove to be a source of inspiration for architects.
Also during the day, see Jal Mahal, situated in Man Sagar Lake, from outside. Looking beyond the lake, tourists will be greeted by the scenic views of the Aravalli Hills, temples and ancient forts. You can use the remaining time to explore the dazzling markets of Jaipur.
After finishing this half-day sightseeing tour, retreat to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 3 - Jaipur to Delhi ( 265kms/5hrs)
Post checking-out from the hotel, visit local market and drive back from Jaipur to Delhi.
